|
| | Vancouver, Canada -- April 19, 2007 -- YGC Resources Ltd. (Toronto Stock Exchange: YGC; Frankfurt Xetra Exchange: ZH6) announces results from its drilling program at its wholly owned Silver Valley property located near Ross River, in the Yukon Territory, Canada.
Diamond drilling continues on the Silver Valley silver-lead-gold-copper property, located 8 kilometers east of the Ketza mine site. The discovery vein was exposed in a bulldozer trench in 1968, where it assayed 55 opt silver and 49% lead over a width of 2.4 meters. That year, two mine levels (adits) were excavated to explore the vein, at approximately 20 meters and 50 meters below the surface exposure, respectively. Underground channel sampling yielded values as high as 63 opt silver and 64% lead. A 17 meter length of the mineralized zone averaged 22.8 opt silver and 19.9% lead, and averaged a width of 2.0 meters. Gold ran as high as 6 grams per tonne, but was only analyzed for in a few of the 1968 samples.
Results have been received for a further 17 diamond drill holes since the March 7, 2007 news release. The principal vein has been tested along 60 meters of strike and from 30 meters below outcrop to a depth of 120 meters. This vein is open at depth and laterally. Other veins have been identified in both the footwall and hanging wall of the principal vein.
The massive galena target mineralization, which was intersected in the mine workings 20 meters below the surface, was cut by hole SV-07-18. From 99.67 to 100.30 meters, a true thickness of 0.48 meters, assayed 3.84 g/t Au, 2730.0 g/t Ag, 31.7% Pb, 0.1% Zn and 1.5% Cu.
Among other notable holes, SV-07-24 cut a true thickness of 1.26 meters that assayed 1.18 g/t Au, 445.0 g/t Ag, 0.6% Pb and 0.4%Cu. The hole also contained an intercept of 1.68 meters true thickness of 9.06 g/t Au, from 234.8 to 236.83 meters. This intercept, and those in other holes, suggest that gold grades strengthen with depth. Also of note, hole SV-07-26 cut a 0.68 meter true thickness of vein that assayed 0.21 g/t Au, 526.0 g/t Ag, 9.6% Pb and 0.8% Cu.
